PRESS RELEASE FROM SHERIFF LARRY JONES

 

On Friday August 11, 2017 around 9:25p.m., the JCSO received a call of a possible missing person. The individual in question was identified as Andres Perez-Arce and his wife was concerned because he had not returned from a fishing outing.

Mr. Perez-Arce's vehicle was located in the area of the Hartman bridge. A search of the area was conducted and some of Mr. Perez-Arce's fishing items were located by the creek by the JCSO K-9 Unit. With the findings from the K-9,  the JCSO dive team was contacted and confirmed to respond at daylight.

JCSO Auxiliary officers, including the K9 unit, were asked to stay on scene until the arrival of the dive team. At approx. 4:25 a.m., Cpl. Chris Brownlow and Auxiliary Commander Rick Casey performed another search of the area and located Mr. Perez-Arce body in the water. JCSO personnel, JCSO dive team personnel, and the Johnson County Coroner’s office recovered the body from the creek. The Johnson Co. Coroner’s office sent the body to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy, at this time no foul play is suspected.
