Stolen Motorcycle Recovered / Wanted Felon Apprehended

On 06/02/16 at approximately 4:30 am Deputy Brent Scott was patrolling in the area of Hwy 164 just south of Hwy 352 when he observed an orange motorcycle and a tan SUV sitting on the side of the roadway. Deputy Scott reported that it appeared the motorcycle was broken down and stopped to check on the three individuals standing beside it.

The driver of the motorcycle stated that he had ridden in from Texas and was on his way to his mother’s house when he ran out of gas. The other two subjects, the occupants from the tan SUV, stated they had just stopped to assist the driver of the motorcycle, allowing him to use their phone.

Deputy Scott asked for identification from all three of the subjects and then logged the vehicle license plates through the dispatch center. The dispatch center then notified Deputy Scott that the motorcycle was reported stolen from Baytown, Texas. The dispatch center also advised Deputy Scott that the driver of the motorcycle was a wanted person from Texas, wanted for a felony charge of Parole Absconding.

Deputy Scott took the driver of the motorcycle into custody without incident and seized the motorcycle. ASAP Towing took possession of the stolen motorcycle and transported it to the impound yard at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department where it was secured. Deputy Scott transported the driver of the motorcycle to the Johnson County Detention Center where Texas authorities were notified of the arrest and motorcycle recovery.
