On March 12, 2015 Johnson County Deputies responded to the Hartman area to check on a subject that was located under the railroad bridge south of Hartman Park. A fisherman reported that while fishing he saw what looked like a body along the bank. With the help of fisherman he took officers to the area by boat. Officers found a white male subject later identified as Walter Stevens deceased. The Johnson County Coroner, Pam Cogan, came to the scene and pronounced the subject dead. The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab. The investigation is on going at this time. Family members have been notified. Departments involved with the investigation is Union Pacific Railroad, Coal Hill Police Department, Johnson County Dive Team, and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
