08/31/2009 Inmate Population Reaches All-Time High |
|||
The daily population at the Johnson County Detention Center reached an all-time high as of 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31. 80 persons were incarcerated at 6:00 a.m. which is the most inmates housed at one time since the detention center was opened in 1997. The detention center has seen a marked increase in bills this year due to the high population. Bills for food, medicine, doctor and dental visits and utilities are running higher than in years past. Despite these increases, the detention center is still running within budget and no financial problems are forseen at this time. |
