Fight Leads To Shooting, Suspect Arrested

A dispute between brothers led to one being shot and the other arrested at a residence on County Road 4021 at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 16.

Samuel Carter, age 20 was arrested at the scene and charged with Battery 2nd Degree.

The victim, Christopher Carter, age 27 was transported to Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville and transferred to UAMS in Little Rock for treatment of his injuries.

The incident began when the brothers began arguing in the residence.  Christopher Carter then left the residence to cool down by going for a ride with his mother.

Upon returning to the residence another argument broke out between the brothers in the bedroom of Samuel Carter.

Samuel Carter grabbed a shotgun as Christopher Carter left the bedroom.  Samuel followed Christopher to the stairs and shot him one time in the left leg with the shotgun.

Samuel Carter is in the Johnson County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
