05/16/2012 Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest On Drug/Gun Charges |

A traffic stop on County Road 2301 led to the arrest of a Clarksville resident on drug and weapons charges. On Tuesday, May 15 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Cpl. Glenda Morrison stopped a vehicle on County Road 2301 for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, Cpl. Morrison noticed a rifle laying in the passenger seat of the car. A check on the driver, Tracey Dougan, age 45, revealed that she had a previous felony conviction. Deputy Todd Russell arrived on the scene, secured the rifle and Dougan was placed under arrest. During an inventory of the vehicle, a syringe containing suspected methamphetamine was discovered in a bag in the vehicle. While being booked in at the Johnson County Detention Center, pills were also discovered on Dougan's person. Dougan is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Prescription Drug w/o a Prescription, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of a Firearm By Certain Persons (Felon In Possession), Driving Left Of Center and No Seat Belt.
