A 2001 Yahama 4-wheeler reported stolen from the Ashley Wood residence on County Road 4423 on April 15 was recovered on Forest Service road 1426 north of Horsehead Lake on April 17.

The 4-wheeler was discovered at the bottom of a steep embankment near the area known as "grassy point" and reported to the Sheriff's Office.

Because of the terrain, the Johnson County High Angle rescue group responded and was able to rappel to the 4-wheeler.  A search was conducted for anyone that was possibly on the 4-wheeler when it went over the embankment but no one was located.

Evidence was collected and the 4-wheeler was hoisted from the ravine and taken to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office impound.

There was significant damage to the 4-wheeler.  Anyone with any information on the theft of this 4-wheeler or any other criminal activity is urged to contact Detective Chad Morrow at the Sheriff's Office with the information.  You can remain anonymous.
