Two Pope County Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Two Pope County residents were arrested on drug charges after deputies discovered them in a closed section of Flat Rock Park.

The arrest ocurred on Sunday, March 25 at approximately 4:00 p.m. as deputies were conducting canine training.

Deputy Todd Russell and Auxiliary Deputy Raymond Christian discovered a vehicle parked near the boat ramp.  After running a check on both the driver and passenger, it was discovered that the passenger, Jennifer Edgin, age 27 of Dover had an outstanding warrant as an absconder from parole/probation.

After she was removed from the vehicle, deputies noticed what appeared to be drugs and drug paraphernalia in the passenger seat and floor area where she was sitting.

Deputies then spoke with the driver, Donald Stutzman, Jr., age 42 of Russellville.  Stutzman told the Deputies that he did not really know the female passenger, that she was a "friend of a friend".

Deputies searched the vehicle with consent and discovered suspected methamphetamine, scales, syringes and a "loaded" syringe, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Edgin is charged with Possession of a Controlled Susbtance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as well as being served an absconder warrant.

Stutzman is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) With Intent To Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both have a court date of May 12, 2012 in Johnson County Circuit Court.
