Deputy Discovers "Shake and Bake" Meth Lab In Progress, 2 Arrested
Jason Baublit
Issac Ross

2 Clarksville residents, Jason Baublit, age 29 and Issac Ross, age 21 were arrested on Friday, February 25 by Deputy Lance Clubb after he discovered a working moblie methamphetamine lab in their car on Mason Road.

Deputy Clubb was on patrol at approximately 8:00 p.m. when he noticed a vehicle sitting in a strip pit area on Mason Road.  Deputy Clubb drove to the vehicle where he was met on the roadway by Baublit.  Deputy Clubb asked Baublit to return to his car and upon speaking with Baublit, Deputy Clubb noticed the odor of an intoxicant on his person as well as an empty beer bottle beside the car.  Deputy Clubb also noticed a strong chemical smell coming from the vehicle.  After Baublit repeatedly refused to obey commands, he was handcuffed and arrested for public intoxication.

Deputy Clubb then noticed items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine lying beside the vehicle and in plain view inside the vehicle.  Clubb took Ross into custody and called for other officers to come to the scene.  It was determined at that time that a mobile meth lab was in the vehicle.  A hazardous materials clean-up crew was summoned from Little Rock to clean up the area and remove some of the chemicals.

Both occupants of the car were transported to the Johnson County Detention Center.

Baublit is charged with Public Intoxication, Drinking In Public, Fictitious Tags, Manufacturing a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Ross is charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a parole violation hold has been placed on him.

Both will have bond hearings on Monday, February 28.
