83 pounds of prescription medications were collected by the Sheriff's Office during the national take-back initiative Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event was held at the Hurley Enterprises parking lot. Citizens began dropping off their prescription drugs as early as 9:30 a.m. and some even brought meds by the Sheriff's Office the previous two days. This event was a huge success for Johnson County. The drugs will be turned over to the DEA and will be taken to a disposal unit in El Dorado for destruction.
