Church Burglarized, 21 of 26 Items Recovered

21 of 26 items, including guitars, amps, speakers, mics and cables stolen from the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church on Mills Road the night of June 30 have been recovered and two suspects have been identified. The door to the church was kicked open and musical instruments taken in the burglary. The Clarksville Police Department notified the Sheriff's Office on Saturday, July 3 that a subject had brought several items to the P.D. to turn in that supposedly came from the church burglary. Detective Jeff Wood and Deputy Glenda Morrison worked throughout the weekend to identify witnesses and suspects and get statements and recover as much of the property as possible. The property belonged to the church and 3 parishoners who played music in the church. The total amount of stolen items was $9414.00, including approximately $800.00 to replace the double doors of the church. The recovered propery was valued at $6256.00. Two suspects, an 18 year-old male from Clarksville and a 19 year-old male from Lamar are expected to be charged with Commercial Burglary and Theft of Property in connection with the thefts. The investigation will continue to try and recover as much property as possible.
