Subject Faces Charges After Pointing Rifle At Officers

A 24 year old Wyoming resident faces charges after pointing a rifle at Deputy Lance Clubb and Clarksville Patrolman Arron Arnold at a residence on Highway 352 west of Clarksville on Saturday, March 27. Officers responded to a report of a subject threatening himself at the residence and upon arrival after a brief search they located him hiding behind a shed. Officers observed him pointing a rifle at his head with his finger on the trigger. When officers ordered him to drop the rifle he turned and pointed it toward them. Clubb and Arnold grabbed the barrel of the rifle and wrestled it away from Beatty. Arnold threw the rifle over a fence and Beatty then started fighting the officers. He was subdued and transported to the detention center. Charges include Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons, Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree (2 counts), Battery 2nd Degree (2 counts) and Public Intoxication. Beatty appeared before Circuit Judge Bill Pearson on Monday, March 29 where his bond was set at $25,000.00 cash/commercial with an initial court date of May 7 in Johnson County Circuit Court.
